Emergency Food Drive
We are joining parishes across the city in hosting an emergency Food Drive the weekends of November 1-2 and November 8-9
On November 1, many families within our city stopped receiving SNAP benefits because of the ongoing government shutdown. Archbishop Rozanski has called upon parishes in the St. Louis Archdiocese to collect food items in support of these struggling families in our communities. You can read his full letter below. As he says, “we are called to be people of faith and action.”
Here at St. Francis Xavier College Church, we have chosen to donate our items to the food pantries at the St. Augustine Wellston Center and the International Institute. Please bring your items to the back of church, where there will be bins to collect. You can also bring them through the week to our Parish Center or donate directly to these institutions.
Here is a list of items that are most in need:
Canned chicken or tuna
Peanut butter
Canned chili, soup, or stew
Pasta and pasta sauce
Macaroni and cheese
Hamburger Helper
Knorr packaged sides
Rice
Instant mashed potatoes
Canned fruit and vegetables
Canned beans
Applesauce
Cereal
Granola bars
Oatmeal
Cooking oil
Powdered milk or shelf-stable milk
Baby formula
Baby food
Grocery store gift cards
Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please continue to pray for compassionate hearts and just leadership in our country.
