Xavier Winter Inn— Volunteers Needed!

Every winter, College Church hosts Xavier Winter Inn, offering emergency shelter to unhoused individuals on Wednesday and Thursday nights from Dec.-Feb. The Winter Inn is run entirely by volunteers and provides hospitality on nights when temperatures drop below 20 degrees. We have hosted Winter Inn for over a decade as part of St. Louis Winter Outreach and rely on volunteer support to offer this program.

Volunteer positions include Setup, Greeters/ Hosts, Innkeepers, Cleaners, Dinner Cooks and Laundry Drivers. It’s not too late to sign up to volunteer! Contact Anne Osdieck at aosdieck@gmail or (314) 313-0636 to get connected.

Volunteers ages 13+ are welcome. Those under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Winter Inn relies on volunteer support each year. Thank you for considering plugging into this initiative!

History
Xavier Winter Inn opened in response to the gospel teaching to shelter the homeless. We extend hospitality, fellowship, and shelter to homeless individuals on cold winter nights.

Xavier Winter Inn is part of a collaboration between several congregations and the St. Louis Winter Outreach Group to provide overflow emergency shelter for homeless men and women during the winter months (on Wednesdays and Thursdays) when temperatures drop below 20 degrees. We host overnight visitors in the lower level of the parish center two nights a week when the temperature drops to 20 degrees or below.

Through the generous support of the Parish, the University, Parish Volunteers, SLU Volunteers, and the community, Xavier Winter Inn is possible.
