Pastoral Care Commission

The Pastoral Care Commission provides companionship and support to members of our parish family who experience life transitions, illness, loss, and grief, offering prayer, consolation, and resources.

Spotlight on Seniors

Hosts Spotlight on Seniors Programs with engaging speakers and topics Jan., Feb., and March. Dining Out for Seniors is an opportunity for Seniors to get together monthly after Mass for fun, friendship and exploring restaurants.  Dining Out takes place June through October.

Companionship in Prayer

Pastoral Ministry: Members of our Pastoral Care Team provide rides to and from church, wellness phone calls and Home Communion visits to homebound parishioners or those experiencing challenges to full participation in parish life, and other practical support as feasible.  We facilitate the reception of the Sacrament of the Sick.  Contact Bridget Brennan at 314-313-0613 or joy@canainstitute.org.

Intercessory Prayer has grown out of the listing of the sick in the parish bulletin each week.  This group gathers every Friday via Zoom to pray by name for each person listed in the bulletin and others who have requested prayers.  Prayers are offered for parishioners, their loved ones, and the needs of our community and beyond. Confidentiality is maintained.  All are welcome to join whenever possible.  For further information, contact Sarah Legett at 512-406-1456 or legettsm@yahoo.com.

Elder Prayer Companions are a group of retired parishioners committed to praying for the needs of our parish staff, pastoral council, and other parish leaders.  These intercessors unite their daily prayers with our own Communion of Saints, parishioners who have died in past years or recently.  These Elders meet for communal prayer every six weeks in person or via Zoom.  For further information, contact Sue Griffard at 314-619-5500 or griffard@sbcglobal.net.

The above groups welcome additional members.
