Sacred Water

Precious Gift and Critical Concern

Water, the source and sustenance of all life, is becoming a scarce commodity. Pope Francis has underlined this crisis in his encyclical, Laudato Si’.

A committee of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Associates, chaired by Sr. Carolyn McWatters, will present a day of reflection on the sacredness of water, the global water crisis, and our call to respond. It will be held on Saturday, February 17, from 9:00 am -3:00 pm at Mercy Center in Frontenac. An afternoon panel will include Sarah Smith, Director of Mercy Partnership Fund, the socially responsible investment fund of the Sisters of Mercy; Rick Pautler, member of St Peter’s Parish who works with Water Mission, a non-profit clean water charity; and Vance Moore, President of Business Integration for Mercy Health System.

All are invited! The cost of the day is $40 (includes lunch). Registration is due by February 10. Please register online at mercycenterstl.org.
